2. Website delivery and server log data
When the website is requested, the hosting infrastructure may process technical connection data required to deliver and secure the site. This can include the IP address, date and time of access, requested file or URL, referrer information, browser type and version, operating system and similar technical information.
The purpose is the secure, stable and technically reliable operation of the website. Where the processing is carried out on the basis of legitimate interests, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Log data should be retained only for as long as it is needed for technical operation, security and the investigation of incidents, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
3. Email contact and contact form
If you contact the author by email, the information you provide is used to respond to your enquiry and to manage the resulting correspondence. Depending on the nature of the enquiry, processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual communication, or on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for general correspondence and the legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
The contact form on this website does not send your message to a website database or web-form backend. Submitting the form opens your local email application with a prepared email. The actual transmission then takes place through your chosen email service.
4. Cookies, analytics and third-party tracking
The website itself does not set non-essential cookies and does not use advertising trackers, marketing analytics, social-media plug-ins or automated profiling. No automated decision-making within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR is carried out by the website.
5. Recipients
Technical data may be processed by the website hosting provider as a service provider. Email correspondence may be processed by the email providers used by the sender and recipient. Personal data is not sold for advertising purposes.
6. Storage
Personal data is kept only for as long as necessary for the respective purpose. Correspondence may be retained beyond the immediate enquiry where this is necessary for documentation, legal claims or statutory retention obligations.
7. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.
